Since the beginning of 2024, the next generation of this medium-sized family business has joined the management team: Herbert Grau, the company’s founder, and his daughter Adriana Grau now share responsibility and successfully lead the company as co-CEOs. This marks an important milestone in the company’s succession planning.
Herbert Grau founded GRAU DATA over 30 years ago and quickly developed the company into an international player in the tape robot market before turning it into one of the leading software specialists for data archiving, ransomware protection, and metadata mining. As an innovative entrepreneur, he laid the foundation for the success upon which Adriana Grau is now building.
Adriana Grau brings a wide range of experience and skills from various professional and academic positions both in Germany and abroad. She gained in-depth industry knowledge and expertise in software sales through her work at the U.S. software provider MuleSoft, where she was part of an international sales organization for four years. In 2021, she decided to join GRAU DATA and progressed through various roles until she assumed the position of Co-Managing Director at the beginning of the year.
“Over the course of three decades, my father has built GRAU DATA into an established company in the world of data. His dedication and courage as an entrepreneur have shaped me and are the reason why I am very proud today to be a part of GRAU DATA. I am very grateful for the trust and the opportunity to continue the company’s history with my own touch and to help shape the future of data processing,” says Adriana Grau.
“I am very happy that Adriana has decided to take over the reins and that we have the opportunity to lead the company together over the next few years. We share a passion for data and entrepreneurship and will leverage the different experiences and perspectives of our two generations to continue shaping and expanding GRAU DATA’s business successfully,” comments Herbert Grau.
